Early this year, I worked on a collection of paintings with then Director of Strawberry Hill House, Paul Finucane. The plan was to launch the card collection in the summer when the house and shop was to open up again. Our meetings were held in the tranquil gardens looking across the lawns to the beautiful diminutive gothic palace.
The Trustees of Strawberry Hill House asked me to complete a commission of the exterior of the house in time for Paul’s farewell. Of course, I was delighted and set to with the painting. I was very happy to hear from Paul who kindly described it as an “exquisite watercolour” and I hope it brings him happy memories from his time there.
