The Artist

Simon Cavelle

Simon has both Sri Lankan and Yorkshire heritage, spending his formative years in Sudan, but is now based in London.  Not perhaps a typical career path for an artist, Simon started out in the Household Cavalry, breaking and training horses as a remount rider. During which time, he could also be seen on guard on horseback in Whitehall and Trooping the Colour alongside our late Her Majesty the Queen.

Having left the army, Simon renovated a farmhouse in Suffolk, which piqued his interest in art and design. He started a furniture design company, using a variety of paint effects borrowed from artists over the centuries. He wrote the book Encyclopedia of decorative paint effects and then expanded into interior design, with a keen eye on the importance of colour and texture.

Now focusing on art, Simon's passion for architecture and in particular, for classic cars, yachts and flying machines, has inspired his focus on Sea, Land and Sky for his artworks.  He also develops art for interior design - usually abstract, large canvas works that harmonise with the textures and colour schemes of their environment.  Adding that touch of opulence and prestige of original art created exclusively for you.

If you have an idea for a commission, Simon would be delighted to talk to you, do contact us as below.
